First, AST is much more difficult than GSAT without doubt. Its scope include all you learn in senior high school, and you have less time to finish each subject (GSAT→Chinese:120 minutes, others:100 minutes; AST→80 minutes). Second, the scoring mode is hundred mark system(*1). Every point is very important even though it is just 0.1 point. One may can't enter the department he/she wants by 0.1 points. Last but not least, if one doesn't do well on it, he/she won't have second chance untill next year. Therefore, those attend AST are called "warriors."
I think most of us know that there is big change to GSAT from 107 academic year(*2). Now, the Chinese test is including choice questions and compositions, and you have to finish 15 multiple choices, 8 multiple selections, and 3 compositions in 120 minutes. However, since 107 academic year, you will have 80 minutes to finish choice questions and the other 80 minutes to finish 2 compositions.
It's new challenge for students. I don't know what will happen. Maybe we just wait and observe XDDD.

*1:hundred mark system→百分制
*2:academic year→學年
I think that putting composition as a independent subject is very unclever because that the grading is hard to be objective.
